Zoos are great……..not?

The zoo is a part of our people’s lives. They bring to us wild life and help people know more about the animals life. This is wonderful, but there are some negative points about zoos. This essay will look at causes and effects of these problems.

Nowadays many animals have become extinct because people want to kill them or sell them to zoos to make money. Many hunters go to Africa for hunting because they want to kill elephants to get their tusks. This leads to many elephants dying. Everyone knows that the ivory is very expensive. On the other hand, there are still many people who try to protected those animals by opening zoos and put them in cages to take care of them .However, they are also making money as well. This causes animals are over-protected by zookeepers. The animals are getting lazy and useless, they do not know how to look after themselves like: cleaning up, finding food and protecting because they have got the zookeepers do all these jobs for them.

Furthermore, there are too many zoos in all over the world and it takes a lot of spaces. Moreover, in New Zealand twenty years ago, there had about two zoos and a few animals in it, but now the number of zoos is increased twice about four times more animals than before. That can make more air pollution and disease

Hi Che
After reading your blog I'm questioning whether I should ever visit the zoo again! I know I didn't enjoy the zoo in Sydney, for some of the same reasons that you describe. What are the zoos like in your country? Are the zoos in NZ this bad?
